Big week ahead as we get ready to list our house of the last 6 years that we have poured so many projects and work into! It has been a busy last few weekends doing last-minute fixes, painting, and scrubbing all the corners, nooks and crannies. So grateful to our family for all the extra hands—we could not have done it without you—and feeling all the feels as we get ready to say goodbye to such a special house and what was the start of so much for us!

Happy October, friends! This spring and summer were filled with backyard and house projects (see mini update here), and I can’t believe the trees are already almost bare. It’s so strange to watch the seasons come and go while life (as we knew it) is somewhat standing still.

Over the last few months, I’ve been working on all things home! We’ve lived in our house for 2 1/2 years, but the interior is far from complete—it takes TIME, but we’re making progress. My latest purchase is a favorite: the perfect runner for the hallway that connects bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and dining room on the main floor.

The hallway is only about 6 or 7 feet long, so it was somewhat challenging to find the right size runner for the space. I’m so happy with this one by Safavieh that comes in tons of different sizes—the color offers a great pop in the hallway, it’s plush underfoot and the price is AMAZING. Two of my coworkers actually own it as well! I love any opportunity to walk through this hallway now.

Our home has a rustic/southwestern-inspired design vibe, but I think this rug would also complement a modern-traditional aesthetic. I plan to purchase the 12-foot runner (UNDER $100!) for our upstairs hallway when we finish that space to be our master bedroom—hopefully it will still be in stock when that time comes! It does so much to make high-traffic areas more comfortable—and the whole house more homey.

What are your favorite rug brands/destinations? Do you go for bold colors or neutrals? I was initially regretting not choosing beige-y neutrals for our home, but I realized colorful, fun patterns make me much happier.
