Happy Friday, friends!
Itβs been a minute since my last post, so I thought Iβd do a quick little life update!
Last week I took Friday off and it was everythingggg. I havenβt had much PTO this summer with starting a new job at the end of May, so it was a welcome break. Chris also had the day off, and we played pickle ball in the afternoon which was fun. Itβs amazing the difference one extra day in the weekend makesβit feels SO much longer than two days.
We also went tubing down a river for a friendβs birthday last weekendβperfect timing for a little ALMOST-end-of-summer celebration. Sundays are usually my βprep for the weekβ day, so I was a little hesitant to spend the day sipping wine spritzes and White Claws, but it turned out to be really fun, and TBH a better way to spend the day than wallowing in the Sunday scaries.
At work, four new designs launched this week. I worked on the marketing campaign for the the launch, and it was rewarding to see all the assets go live after so much time and effort.
On the home front Iβve made a few new dΓ©cor purchases (will share soon!) and the house is feeling somewhat completeβfor the momentβwhich feels good. Next up I want to get some kind of rug (thinking this runner) for our laundry room. Itβs an unfinished space (and we probably wonβt finish it while weβre here), but I think a cozy rug will go a long way in making that room a little more pleasant to be in. Definitely an upgrade from bare concrete! Chris also spent time this week getting HVAC quotes for our upstairs. Weβre trying to get started on the electrical and insulation for that space, and hopefully finish it this winter! Progress!
Itβs hard to believe itβs football season and back to school timeβand lots of retailers are talking fall. Itβs still pretty hot in Minnesota but it looks like weβre dropping down to the seventies next week which sounds ideal. My approach to transitional weather is simple: just add a jacket. Summer piecesβlike this t-shirt dressβcan easily take you into fall if you just layer up. No need to buy all new things!
