Happy Halloween!

We don’t have any big party plans this weekend, but I did stock up on candy for the trick-or-treaters and grab a $10 googly-eyed monster headband from Target over my lunch break, just in case I feel like getting in the spirit. Handing out candy while making chili and watching the Vikings game sounds like a cozy Sunday night to me! Whatever you’re up to, I hope it’s a good one!

Outfit details: I’ve been meaning to share this sweatshirt for a looooong time. A cult favorite from Rebecca Minkoff (in 8 colors and under $100), I’ve had it in black and cream for over two years—I remember I bought the cream-colored one to wear on my bachelorette weekend in Oregon wine country in the spring of 2019. And more than two years later, I’m still wearing it consistently from work to weekend. Puff sleeves and shoulder details are still going strong, so grab one for yourself if you’re in the market for something that’s on-trend while still having some longevity and can be dressed up or down—or even made into a Halloween costume if you just add a witch hat or cat ears! 😸 My skirt and boots are old, but linking similar styles in my LTK shop!

💰 #SHOPYOURCLOSET CHALLENGE: WEEK 3 MONEY DIARY 💰

ICYMI: I’m not buying any new clothes until 2022 and documenting my weekly discretionary spending to hold myself accountable! Get caught up here.

Discretionary spending 10/22-10/29:

  • Two glasses of sauv blanc and chips & guac at happy hour: $36

  • Workweek lunch (Zupa’s for soup & salad is my go-to): $14

  • Target run for Halloween candy, Happy gummies, mouthwash, mints (obsessed with these and always buy the party size when I can find it) and more: $60

  • Clothes: $0

Reflections from this week: I was reaaaaaally hating my wardrobe this week and wishing for some new things. Everything felt blah. But with November right around the corner, it’s already time to start thinking holiday gifts, and I’m glad I’m not behind on my budget due to clothes spending.
